The lead up to Christmas has been fantastic here in Merimbula! We have been very busy with SUP lesson bookings and Huey has been looking after us by providing some very nice mornings. January is looking like it will be a boomer as the bookings are running in thick and fast! Make sure you get in early to book your SUP session to avoid missing out.

Hopefully by mid November 2019 my new business Flow Self Improvement will be up and running. This business will be operating from a studio on our property and also we will be using local beaches and maybe even the paddleboards! This service is designed for people who feel they need a bit of guidance to set some goals and get life back on track. We had a pretty large in coming tide yesterday morning at lesson time so we took full advantage of it and took our guests on our famous ride the tide session from Spencer Park to Top Lake Cafe. It was heaps of fun and the weather was sensational! The trip is about 3.75 km and we just stand back and let the tide take us on ride!
The warmth of the early morning sun streaming across the water. Perfect still mornings and the surface of the Merimbula Lake is like a sheet of glass. Yes, this all means that Summer in Merimbula is knocking on the door. Merimbula offers everything for the stand up paddle boarder. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced SUP enthusiast, Merimbula has something to offer everyone. Michael and Ethan from Albury Wadonga joined me for a SUP session this week and we had a ball!
Recently we participated in the Taste of Eden festival at Boydtown. This event is put on for the P&O cruise ships which are now visiting Eden. At the event we offer a 20 minute mini lesson and tour for the guests of the cruise ship. Locals are also more than welcome to come along and enjoy the festival. Take a close look at the picture below. You can see the cruise ship in the background. Also take note of the perfect paddle conditions! It was a great day. The next Taste of Eden Festival is in November. Stay tuned!
Yesterday morning was just the best on the Merimbula Lake for Nicole and her family. The conditions were so good we even ventured out through the mouth of the lake for a little feel of the ocean! Once again we timed the tide and the wind perfectly to ensure the best, safest experience possible.
Pambula Surf Club hosted their fantastic annual race on the weekend called the Club to Pub. This race usually goes all the way across Merimbula bay from Pambula Beach and finishes at the Lakeview Hotel just opposite the Merimbula Marina. This year due to the nasty ocean conditions, it was held in the Pambula River. This is a 10 km event and it was very testing this year in the harsh, windy conditions.
Winter is a very quiet time on the water for our lessons here in Merimbula. This give us plenty of time to step away and enjoy some snow boarding! We had a great week last week with the kids at Mount Selwyn.
We have had some crazy weather here in Merimbula this year. Yes the water is chilly but the sun has been shining and as long as you stay on your feet and high and dry, it has been spectacular on the water! Spring is knocking on the door now so fingers crossed the weather will stay perfect for another long, happy SUP season. Check the winter pics below.
This morning Merimbula was blanketed in a very eerie sea mist / fog during our SUP lesson / tour. It made the whole experience even more magical than usual. The dull light of the morning combined with absolutely no wind and super clear conditions made the water almost glow underneath our stand up paddle boards. It really was a magical experience.
