Every morning is very different out on the water and that's what I love about it! Check out this pic of a very low lying cloud drifting out over the water on Sunday morning as we had just set up for our lesson.

Check out the clip below to find out some info about our kids SUP package range. Kids love stand up paddle boarding and that is why we encourage people to bring their children along for a SUP lesson. So what is our minimum participation age? Our minimum age is 10 years old and we have had plenty of 10 year old's come along for the experience. 10 is a tricky age as some kids are very capable and some kids struggle a little. The kids that struggle generally handle the paddling side of things OK but some find the distance we paddle to be a bit too much. This is fine as I carry a 10 foot leash with which I can tow any child that gets a little tired on our journey. I have attached a couple of pics of some kids enjoying a bit of a tow on the Merimbula Lake during a SUP session and to be totally honest it is great paddle training for me!
If you have any concerns or questions in regard to your child please don't hesitate to give me a call. I am always available for a chat. Steve. The Water in the Merimbula Estuary is Really Warming up which means an Abundance of Sea Life!14/11/2017 The water in the Merimbula Estuary is really starting to warm up and that means fantastic stand up paddle sessions with plenty of sea life! In the Winter time when the water is freezing a lot of the fish species tend to go a bit dormant and some species don't even enter the cold waters of the lake. From now until the chilly water arrives just before next Winter the lake will be alive with activity! On Saturday it was really noticeable. I had a group of four from Canberra and we saw many species of fish in the crystal clear waters. We also saw an abundance of sting rays ranging in size from small to very large. With all the fish activity starting to liven up, we sometimes even get the odd dolphin venturing into the estuary looking for an easy meal!
Merimbula Lake is an absolutely amazing place for your stand up paddle boarding experience! The waters of the lake are crystal clear and totally safe for swimming. There is an abundance of sea life and bird life to view whilst paddling here. Stand up paddle is the perfect way to view the sea life as you are standing up so high and can look straight down on top of it, on a clear day it is almost like snorkeling! Some of the creatures you may encounter on the Merimbula Lake are sting rays, seals, eagle rays, many fish species and maybe even a dolphin or two! To get your SUP experience just right on the Merimbula Lake you have to get the tide times perfect and you also need to have a good knowledge of the wind conditions. If you book a session with Merimbula Stand Up Paddle Lessons & Tours you don't need to worry about any of this as we do all the hard work for you. Steve is our SUP weather guru and will arrange the best time for you or your group to get out on the water in the best conditions possible.
